2010 Entertainment
The success of previous years’ entertainment at the Childers Festival of Cultures owes a lot to the support of local, statewide and even national businesses who have become sponsors, and this year is no exception.
The ongoing support of Bundaberg Regional Council gives the Festival its’ core strength.
Regarded as Queensland’s “Friendliest Festival” it is very much a community based event with many volunteer man hours provided by various service clubs and Emergency Services groups.
Because of the rare structure of our site, being the highway itself, we are a free Festival, whereas other Festivals make their money on the gate entry fee.
This year the Festival boasts some awesome performers, both new and returning, so don’t miss out on this great opportunity for free entertainment.
"Dedicated to keeping blues live and alive!!"
The Childers Festival is proud to have Los Cobras returning in 2010!!
Made up of four seasoned professional musicians, they play a style of blues that will get you clapping, dancing, singing and shuckin’ & jivin’. Los Cobras evolved from two highly popular Queensland bands - Studebakers (a straight ahead Aussie rock band) and Black Dog (a very successful touring blues band). So, with Los Cobras, we have the best of both worlds - great blues and rock ‘n’ roll with a great audience appeal.
Their music is tight and dynamic, delivering favourites from Stevie Ray Vaughn, George Thorogood, Jimmi Hendrix and Willie Dixon, along with reworked blues classics and rock ‘n’ roll standards. Their arrangements bring a freshness to each song and they just ‘make you wanna dance’!
