The magnificent tree lined main street of Childers comes alive on the last weekend in July each year for the annual Childers Festival of Cultures. Featuring live music with a host of talent, the party starts Saturday afternoon and proceeds into the night. From it's humble beginnings held in the service lane adjacent to the main highway and attracting approximately 6,000 people, the Festival has grown in area and size and now attracts in excess of 45,000 people.
With six stage areas featuring non-stop music catering to all tastes, refreshment stalls showcasing wines from around the region, food stalls from around the world cooking up tantalising treats and high quality craft stalls you'll be hard pressed to find a better way to spend a Sunday.
The Childers main street explodes into a myriad of colour and movement as the street performers, clowns and acrobats continually entertain. The children are not forgotten with jumping castles, giant slides and loads of action. 2010 will be the Festival's 15th year and is shaping up as bigger and better than ever!
